1960 Sunbeam

Alpine Mark I

--Red over Black interior, Black carpeting, Black Convertible Top and Rare Factory Hard Top, 1.5-Liter Inline-Four Cylinder Engine, 4-Speed manual gearbox, Front mounted fog lights, Lovely older restoration.

This is undoubtedly one of the few early Alpines which remain. It is excellent in ever way and only used and enjoyed in its most recent ownership for seasonable Long Island, NY touring.

The Series 1 Sunbeam Alpine even made an appearance driven by Sean Connery as James Bond in the movie, Dr. No.

The Sunbeam Aline was a popular British sports car and extremely luxurious in comparison to its MG, Triumph and Austin Healey marketplace rivals. It is elegant, has roll up windows, where many of its competition still having side curtains to deflect inclement weather conditions. Its convertible top was easily stowed under its "clamshell", not the norm for the day and quite stylish.

Not only stylish and user friendly, the Alpine was capable of 100 mph. Also rare for the era, the Sunbeam Alpine was fitted with disc brakes rather than older fashioned drum brakes. These are fun, reliable sports car, rare and not the norm in comparison to many of its contemporaries which can be seen both on the road as well as at various automobile meets. It is even suitable for small children and able to be used as a 2+2. Although having ample luggage space in the boot, the rear seats can always be used for extra storage space when used for overnight weekend touring and pleasure.

On a recent road test, this Sunbeam Alpine performed exceptionally with great power and handling. A wonderful vintage elegant English sports car, this Sunbeam Alpine is eligible for many of the worlds finest rallies, tours and events. It must certainly be seen as a huge, "bank for the buck" and a sports car rarely seen on the road.

We welcome inspections and road tests.
