This 356 Speedster was originally delivered through the famous Max Hoffman - Hoffman Imports, New York City in Meissen Blue. It made its way to enthusiast West Coast ownership where it was first used as a daily driver and later raced competitively throughout the '50s, '60s and '70s.
Later in its lifetime, the 356 Speedster entered long term ownership in the collection of Elizabeth White and Andrew Zalasin and within their impressive car collection, all of which were serviced and maintained, ready for immediate use at a moments notice.
In the 2000's, this Speedster was restored by Carl Brown - CB Restorations, Massachusetts. Carl Brown had decades of experience restoring automobiles while working for Paul Russell - Paul Russell & Co. gaining a reputation for high-quality restorations that were frequent winners at the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance. The Speedster has all of its original sheet metal, but unfortunately lost it s original numbers matching engine during divorce.
Over the years, various items were uprated, this Speedster received 356C disc brakes as well as its 1,925CC engine (built from a period date-coded engine) currently in the car having been built by legendary 356 engine builder, Jerry McCarthy - Kamm Motorsports, also well-known for his 356 4-cam engine builds. The suspension has been tuned and prepared for everything from California canyons runs to long range touring in comfort.
More recently, this 356 Speedster has been in the ownership of a good friend of Autosport Designs where it was used and enjoy at his Northern California residence. After enjoying a drive to Monterey for last years Monterey automotive festivities, the Speedster was given to HG Motorsports to service anything and everything to make sure this Speedster is the best it can be.
Upon a recent road test, this 356 Speedster proved itself as nothing short of wonderful in every respect. It is fun, reliable, well sorted and fast! A wonder vintage Porsche that is eligible for some of the worlds finest events and road rallies.
