1977 ASTON MARTIN V8 VANTAGE ‘FACTORY PROTOTYPE OSCAR INDIA’ COUPE
   Click for photos

--Storm Red with Black leather interior and Black Wilton Wool carpeting, 5-speed manual transmission, 70,000 miles from new, RHD, Full specification Vantage engine.

Registration # VNK 349S, Serial # V8/11870/RCAV, Engine # V/540/1870/V is the factory prototype ‘Oscar India’ Vantage. With the introduction of the Series 4 standard saloon, known as ‘Oscar India’ at the factory, the higher performance Vantage version was similarly upgraded with #11870 being the prototype. Chassis #11870 serving as the prototype for this improved model thus received a new rear wing and boot lid styling modifications as well as new bonnet and front air dam.

To show its outstanding performance this Vantage #11870 ‘VNK 349S’ was raced by the factory to victory driven by both Ray Mallock and Dave Morgan at the AMOC’s St John Horsfall meeting at Silverstone in 1978. Following this and still in the ownership of the factory #11870 took part in the 1979 ‘Beaujolais Run’.

Serial #11870 was retained by AML’s Engineering Department as a development vehicle, being upgraded with much of the equipment fitted to later production models, until sold by the works in 1981.

It was then acquired by John Holdsworth of Aberdeen. In January 1984, it was purchased by well-known historic racer, the late David Heynes, during whose ownership it benefited from considerable servicing by UK Aston specialists Pugsley & Lewis and R S Williams with all bills available. RSW performed engine work and cylinder head rebuild to unleaded specifications. The Vantage was sold by Mrs Heynes in 2003 having been refurbished prior to sale by RSW. It was then owned a Mr. Tombolis who owned this Vantage for one year before passing it on to its next and prior owner to its purchase by Autosport Designs, Inc. More recent servicing by Pugsley & Lewis has included servicing to the sills and bodywork, a full service maintenance, air conditioning overhaul, steering overhaul and braking system upgrade with the addition of larger AP racing discs and calipers fitted to the front. In total, almost $100,000 has been spent from 1984 to date to keep this V8 Vantage in proper condition throughout.

Autosport Designs, Inc. would like to offer this important and historic Aston Martin V8 Vantage prototype to a new home.

**Currently this V8 Vantage is in UK and available for immediate sale.

1954 FERRARI 250 GT TDF BERLINETTA PININFARINA SPECIALE
   Click for photos

--Blue with Blue interior, Freshly serviced, Full history, 4-speed transmission.

Chassis # 0383GT is regarded as the very first Tour de France completed and one of a handful of early examples completed by Pininfarina rather than the later Scaglietti bodied cars.

This car was ordered in the Spring of 1954 and completed over the Winter of 1955.  It is well documented from its earliest days when it was raced to a 3rd overall at Monza.  It was entered in the 1955 Mille Miglia for Jean Behra and in 1956 joined five other Tour de France Ferrari’s in that year’s running of the Tour de France race itself.

This 250 was then sold to Luigi Chinetti, imported to the United States and raced by Gendebien at the 12 Hours of Sebring.

Damaged in a fire in the late 1960’s, it remained in storage until 1987 when it was given a proper and thorough restoration utilizing 90% of the original body panels, documented by period photos!

In 1987’s it was owned by a Mr. Kalil, Palm City, Florida.  While in Mr. Kalil’s ownership 0383 GT was sent to Allegretti in Italy for complete refurbishment.  In 1990 this 250 GT was purchased by John Collins of Talacrest in the UK, brought to the UK and subsequently resold to Mr. Richard Mattei, Seattle, Washington.  Thereafter and during Mr. Mattei’s 17 years of ownership, 0383 GT was maintained by Phil Riley and used on several Mille Miglia Retrospectives and well as several Monetery Historics.

In 1996, 0383GT was restored once again and its color changed from Red to its current Blue livery.

In 2007, 0383 GT was purchased from Mr. Richard Mattei and became part of well-known vintage racer Mr. Charles Arnots collection.

In 2008, 0383GT was purchased from Mr. Arnot in a multi-car trade with Autosport Designs, Inc. and has thus become available for sale once again.

This 250 GT is fitted with engine #0977/GT, it has recently been rebuilt by Cavallo Motorsport and has proven to have much horsepower, torque and exceptional reliability.  The engine currently fitted to 0383GT was purchased in 1990 from DK Engineering.  It is similar in appearance to the original, basically identical to a 1958 Tour de France except for carburetors which are the same as used on a 250MM and 250 TDF and thus as original and proper to this car.  The original distributors would have been front mounted while the distributors fitted to the engine in the car are rear mounted large type.  If correct distributor and drive housings were sourced, they could be fitted to the engine currently in the car without change to the timing covers.

This 250 GT has been raced in both the States and Europe over the last 15 years and is a well-know entrant at all major events.

This is a opportunity to purchase an original left hand drive, all-alloy competition Ferrari Berlinetta with full history from day one.

SOLD 1964 PORSCHE 356 SC-GT COUPE
   Click for photos

--Silver with Black interior and Grey German square weave carpeting, 4-speed, 1 0f 6 manufactured by Porsche.

The 1964 SC GT #126955 is an evolution of the lightweight S90 GT coupes and the 356B Carrera GT coupes that were produced in the preceding few years.  The purpose of the GT options was strictly to provide a lightweight car with the pushrod engine that could be run in competition.  This particular car never entered any professional race venue and therefore retains its originality from new.  It was never restored only well maintained and painted in 1998 using Glasurit polyurethane e-base formulated to Porsche paint code 6206, its original color.

The car was originally delivered to Wester Motors in Monterey, CA., Jim Miehle of Los Altos, CA being its original owner.  It was delivered new with silver paint, black vinyl interior and charcoal carpeting. The car was equipped and delivered with GT seats, GT aluminum doors, Plexiglas side and rear windows, Carrera wood steering wheel, GT leather pull up straps for the side windows as well as chrome plated wheels, Blaupunkt Frankfurt radio with two speakers an antenna and fog lamps.

The 356 SC-GT still retains its motor original motor number 810-527 and original transmission number 72419-741/80A which is extremely rare for these competition based Porsches.

Well-known Porsche expert Bruce Andersen purchased this SC-GT in August of 1965.  Bruce Anderson and Jim Perrin did a study in circa 1967 to try to determine how many of these rare cars were actually produced and it was determined only five or six were ever produced with GT options as the car presented here.  Cars with GT options weigh circa 200 pounds less than the standard production SC Coupes!  The car was shown in the 1969 Porsche Parade Concours by Bruce Anderson.  In 1970 the car won first in class at Hillsborough, Pebble Beach 3rd in class, Palo Alto first in class and well as having numerous other first in class wins.  In 1972, Ron Greenspan purchased the car from Bruce Anderson, Mr. Greenspan showed the car in a few concours events and then traded it to Carl Carlsen as part payment for a VW dealership located in San Francisco.  Carl Carlsen kept the car in his museum in his Palo Alto Porsche dealership.  He sold the car to his body shop manager Marshall Matthews and then in 1982 Matthews sold the car to Todd Fell of New Orleans.  Bill Durland purchased the car in February of 1983 unfortunately the engine broke the crankshaft at this time.  The engine was rebuilt by Vic Skirmants at this time and did not let him down once throughout his ownership.  Durland used the SC-GT to drive to numerous East Coast 356 Registry Holiday Concours events over the years.  In 1998 Durland's had the car repainted.  Subsequently the car was sold to well-known 356 expert Weldon Scrogham in 1999 and then sold to a well known Porsche collector, Cal Turner in 2000.  Mr. Turner sold the car to a friend in 2004 then sold on again to its most recent and previous owner, another well-known Porsche collector in Northern California.

The 356 SC-GT has been featured in the October 2006 Excellence Porsche magazine.  Today 356 SC-GT # 126955 remains in exceptional condition throughout, with its original engine and gearbox and would be a welcomed addition to any collection throughout the world, 1 of 6 total manufacture, it is rare indeed.

1963 PORSCHE 356 B CARRERA 2 CABRIOLET
   Click for photos

--Dark Grey with Black Interior, Grey German square weave carpets and Black cloth top and top boot, Older restoration, 4-speed manual transmission, 2.0 liter Plain Bearing Engine.

By late 1961, a road-going 356 with Porsche's exotic four-camshaft engine had been missing from showrooms for two years. In September 1961, a revised T-6-based Carrera was introduced for the 1962 model year, the new model was launched at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September 1961. The new 4-cam Carrera engine now being even more potent with new 2.0 liter displacement making this the fastest incarnation of the 356 yet produced. Within six months of its initial launch, the Carrera 2 also became equipped with ATE disc brakes.

Carrera 2 road cars used the Type 587/1 plain bearing motor with a compression of 9.2:1 with two twin choke Solex 40 PII-4 carburettors, this produced 130bhp at 6200rpm and was enough for a top speed of around 130mph and a 0-60 time of just over eight seconds. Using a more-or-less standard T-6 shell, the new two-litre road car could be identified by its brass Carrera 2 scripting located on the engine lid and was available in either Coupe or Cabriolet body styles.

This 356 B Carrera 2 Cabriolet is a matching numbers example that has been restored many years ago but remains in excellent condition both cosmetically and structurally. It has had two owners from new and has convered only 81,000 miles total miles from new. This is a rare opportunity to purchase a 356 B Carrera 2 Cabriolet of which less than 35 examples have ever been manufactured.
