In 1985 the R65s engine was put into the same frame and suspension as the R80 which featured a single rear shock absorber (mono-shock) this provided for a lightweight platform for both touring and urban maneuvering, which was an ideal platform for Police use.

This bike has resided in collector ownership and presents as-used by the Netherlands Politie Police force. It is one of 639 built and features original equipment consisting of Police lights and siren, original supplied Police saddlebags, Dutch license plate, and comes with Dutch Police jacket.
