While the 2005 Ford GT was a retro-inspired homage to the original GT40 racecars, the new GT is a futuristic interpretation using cutting-edge design elements throughout its construction. The GT features a well-designed carbon-fiber monocoque chassis with lightweight aluminum front and rear subframes. Every exterior body panel is made from carbon fiber with distinctive aerodynamic air channels running from the rear of the doors to the rear of the car. Situated like a racecar, the GT uses a pushrod suspension system with active aerodynamics including a hydraulically adjustable rear wing. With multiple driving modes, ride height and downforce can be adjusted for optimal performance.
Factory options include: Equipment Group 501A (Heritage Edition), 6-Point harness anchors, Exterior carbon fiber package in Gloss, Ford GT indoor cover in Black, Locking lug nut kit.
The power is from a 3.5L Twin-Turbocharged V6 engine producing 647 hp with 550 lb-ft of torque. The GT will do 0-60 mph in 2.9 seconds with a top speed of 216 mph in V-Max mode.
