The first year of the G series body, 1974 was a major turning point in 911 development. A strengthened chassis, impact bumpers and the new short hood look combined with the RS flared fenders, wider wheels and iconic ducktail gave the Carrera a more athletic personality without detracting from the cars famous profile. Paired with the 911 S 175HP K-Jetronic fuel injected engine, the Carrera could achieve 0-60mph in 6.5 seconds and topped out at 142mph giving it the performance to match its racy personality.
This Carrera 2.7 was completed in June of 1974 in special ordered Gemini Blue Metallic. It was sold new on August 29, 1974 to Mr. Castellanos of Seattle, Washington through University Porsche-Audi and remained on the West Coast for much of its life. During previous ownership in Berkeley, California, this Carrera underwent a complete restoration through Porsche specialist, Freddie Hernandez of Vintage Sportscar Restorations in Phoenix, Oregon. Every step of the restoration was documented and all photos and records accompany the car with invoices totaling $129,300 as no stone was left unturned.
This is a very well-sorted early 911 in a rare color combination in excellent restored condition, quite possibly better than new! It delivers an outstanding driving experience with a tight feel and strong power, it is an exceptional 911 in every respect.
This Carrera includes its original books, full-sized dealer brochure, tool kit, date matched spare wheel, jack, restoration records and Porsche certificate of authenticity. In exceptional condition this Carrera 2.7 is a welcome addition to any Porsche enthusiast or collectors garage-collection.
