The Mercedes W113 type, nick-named “Pagoda” due to a distinctive and patented concave hardtop roofline. Many see as one of the most beautiful cars ever built. All 280 SL models were equipped with an inline 6-cylinder engine with mechanical fuel injection. The comparatively short and wide chassis, combined with an excellent suspension, powerful brakes and radial tires gave the 280 SL superb handling for its time.

While early history is unknown, this restored 280 SL was purchased by Ms. Mary Aaron of Louisiana in 2002. Always exceptionally serviced and cared for as seen it its large service history file, the 280 has seen exceptional collector ownership since, most recently in Scottsdale, Arizona. This 280 has received a recent major servicing over $11,000 to ensure all systems remain in exceptional driving condition. Servicing included full fluid service, new bearings and seals, new brakes – discs, rotors pads, calipers and hoses, new sway bar rubber bushings, inner and outer axle seals, front and rear dampeners, new tie rods, new exhaust o-rings and insulation pad, valve adjustment, 123 distributor, new spark plugs and a rebuilt radiator.

Cosmetically and mechanically refreshed, this 280SL is in superb condition throughout. This is an excellent driving example, has always been cared for mechanically, has never sustained any accident damage and whose structure is superb. It even retains its original fenders with its fender notches.

This 280SL represents a great value for a collector or enthusiast seeking an enjoyable and reliable vintage Mercedes Benz Roadster and with its very rare 4-speed manual transmission. It is complete with its original books, tools, large service history file, original data card, jack, spare wheel and factory hard top. It also has paint protection film covering the entire front end.
