The BMW 2002 is regarded as the genesis of modern BMW. Introduced in the mid-1960s, the “Neue Klasse” sedan was an instant hit and paved the way for the modern sport sedan, becoming BMW's strong suit carried through to this day. The 2002 (Two-Liter, Two door sedan) was updated throughout its production and culminated with the “tii” fuel injected model. The tii also featured MacPherson suspension and enlarged front disc brakes. 1972 featured the iconic chrome bumper “Roundie” taillights and the “tii” only accounted for about 10% of all 2002 production.

This Chamonix White tii was originally sold in Fresno, California and remained there from new until 2012. The tii was restored in 1999 with intent on showing the car by 2002 (the year) for its namesake. This tii was displayed at the 2002 BMW CCA Oktoberfest event in Colorado where it won the Harmon Fisher Most Original 2002 award. It was then displayed and won the 2011 Palo Alto Concours. After this win, the tii was featured in the October 2012 issue of Bimmer Magazine where the editor called the car “as perfect as an '02 can be.”

Restored to original specification, this 2002 tii is exceptional throughout. Since 2012, it has resided within a large collection in New York. Always exceptional well-kept and maintained regardless of use, this 2002 tii is super to drive and ready for immediate touring enjoyment. It would be an ideal showpiece at any BMW event, vintage car show or tour/rally.
