The DB AR1 is derived from DB7 - the most successful Aston Martin of all time. The DB American Roadster 1 (DB AR1) boasts revised body styling with coachwork by Zagato of Italy. It incorporates a number of dynamic elements, which have been finely engineered to offer a new dimension to the Aston Martin driving experience.
Available only as a two-seater, the DB AR1 has a large distinctive radiator grille and accentuating rear wheel arches, while the carefully detailed features such as the reverse/fog light combination provide graphic evidence of intricate hand craftsmanship and quality that has become an Aston Martin trademark.
The car is powered by an up-rated 'GT' version of the V12, with power up to 435 bhp and torque to 410 lb ft. The active sports exhaust system with rear muffler by-pass valves - as used on the V12 Vanquish - provide the DB AR1 with a very distinctive exhaust note. The DB AR1 is also fitted with the DB7 GT quick-shift gear lever and special multi-spoke 19" alloy wheels with revised offset to give a wider track (8x19" front, 9½x19" rear), equipped with 245/35 ZR19 front and 265/30 rear low profile tires. Braking is supplied through Brembo discs as well as an up-rated brake booster unit as used on the V12 Vanquish for a firmer and more consistent pedal feel.
Previously cared for by Autosport Designs, this DB AR1 was sold to the most recent owner by us. Owned by an AMOC member and Aston enthusiast collector, it has been used seasonally and never in inclement weather. It has always been cared for when and where needed. Most recently, this DB AR1 was serviced at an Aston Martin franchise dealer. The following common service and maintenance was performed: Differential service, Differential output shaft replaced, Drive belts replaced, Front sway bar bushings replaced, Front lower control arm bushings replaced, Front subframe mounts replaced, Serviced rear cross brace-refinished-powder coated, Oil service performed and finally lubricated all areas required by Aston per regular service intervals.
This DB AR1 comes complete with its numbered car cover, books, tools, keys/remote fobs, battery tender and cockpit cover and is ready and awaiting immediate use and enjoyment.
