Testarossa 'Monospecchio'

--Nero with Nero leather interior, Nero carpeting, 77,000 miles from new, 4.9 Liter flat-12, 5-Speed manual transmission, Rare single high mounted side mirror variant, therefore known as a “Monospecchio” variant of the Testarossa model range and the one that started the modern “Redhead” era.

Conceived to replace Ferrari's 512 BB, the Testarossa broke cover at the 1984 Paris Motor Show. A striking departure from the seductive curves of its predecessor, the new flat-12-powered flagship supercar featured more angular styling with trademark slatted cooling vents and an aggressive wedge shape.

Perfectly suited to the era of excess, the Testarossa became an instant hit for its wild design and headline performance, and it would go on to become one of Maranello's best-selling models by the time production of the F512 M variant drew to a close in 1996.

The earliest examples of Ferrari's flagship model can be identified by their single A-pillar-mounted driver's mirror, earning it the 'Monospecchio' moniker along with center lock wheels. The allure of this Monospecchio's beauty is only surpassed by its rarity – 615 US specification Testarossa's were produced between 1986-1987. While exact figures are not available, our research has demonstrated that less than 25% were likely produced in Nero; roughly 154 examples. Lesser still are Nero over Nero units, with Nero over Tan being the dominant configuration. The example on offer is likely one of less than 100 pieces produced for the United States.

Built in March 1986 for the US market, where it was first registered on 1 July 1986. Records indicate that the car was first sold and subsequently service via Symbolic Ferrari of La Jolla, California.
This remarkable first-generation Testarossa received replacement timing belts in October 2019. It is offered with its owner's manual, service book, pouch, jack kit, spare tire/wheel and two keys.
