XK-150 S 3.8 Liter Fixed Head Coupe

Black with Tan leather interior and Tan Carpeting, 4-speed manual with overdrive, Fully Restored, Matching Numbers, Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust Certificate.

This XK-150S 3.8 liter FHC is 1 of only 41 produced and 1 of only 12 originally imported to the United States.

The 3.8-litre Jaguar XK150 represents the ultimate development of the original XK series. Introduced in late 1959 the 3.8-liter engine produced 265 horsepower with its triple SU carburetor set-up. With four-wheel disc brakes, a four-speed full-synchromesh overdrive transmission and a more spacious cockpit than the earlier XKs, the final cars presented a near-perfect balance between form and function.

This rare 3.8-litre S was completed on September 25, 1959, leaving Coventry for the US in October of the same year. Upon arrival, it was sold to its first owner, Mr. Karl Briley of Indiana. Mr. Briley is believed to have owned the XK for only a short period of time, before selling it to Leroy Adams of Fresno, California.

The car remained in the dry California high desert for a number of decades until 1989 when purchased by a very passionate Jaguar collector. It was a very sound car in remarkably original condition, showing minimal surface rust and no signs of having been in an accident.

Shortly thereafter a full restoration was commissioned with emphasis on maintaining the originality of the car. Every aspect of the restoration was rigorously checked, it was discovered that all numbers match, even those stamped on the original SU carburetors.

These cars are appreciated by the collectors the world over due to their limited production run, impeccable style, power, performance and luxurious comfort!

This XK has further benefited from long time collector ownership and care. All maintenance required has been completed wherever and whenever needed. It has recently received a full service tune up and transmission rebuilt to make ready for a new home.
