Raven Black with original Black vinyl interior, Black Carpeting, 351ci 5.8L Cleveland V8, 4-speed manual gearbox, with 72,000 miles from new. This is Mustang Mach 1 survivor!
The Mach 1's original recipe was simple: It started with a V8 powered 'Sportsroof' body and added numerous visual and performance enhancing items such as black hood treatment with hood pins, hood scoop, competition suspension, chrome pop-open gas cap, revised wheels with Good Year Polyglas tires, chrome exhaust tips, deluxe interior, optional chin spoiler, rear deck spoiler, and rear window louvers. The 1970 body included dual-beam headlights and recessed taillights on a black honeycomb rear panel, revised bucket seats, deep dish sports wheel covers, as well as new side and rear badging and striping.
This 2-owner from new Mach 1 was purchased new from Myers Ford Sales of Freeport, IL on November 26, 1969 to a local resident who enjoyed it for many years and took very good care of her. She was sold to her second owner in 1989 where she was cared for and treated to several upgrades and sympathetic restoration. This Mach 1 received a full respray from her original Grabber Blue to its current Raven Black sometime in the early 2000s. While the paint has a few imperfections, she still excellent as only black can! The interior is original black vinyl with original hi-back bucket seats from the factory. The original Select Shift Cruise-O-Matic transmission was updated to a more desirable 4 speed gearbox.
The car was purchased by Autosport Designs, Inc. from it long term owners, the owner getting on in age. While much of the service documents are yet to be located, the owner has described it as the families baby and most of the last decade has been spent tending to her every need.
Complete with original window sticker, sales brochure and owners manual, this Mustang is ready for her 3rd owner. This is the perfect car for person who wants to tidy up the remaining bits and make her a great driver and do local shows.
