This V8 Vantage Volante is 1 of a total of 167 Vantage Volantes produced by the factory. Of the 167 cars, 109 were true V8 Vantage Volantes with the full ‘580X-pack 400+ bhp engine (30 automatics & 79 manuals), 33 of these cars were left hand drive (for the European market) and 76 were right hand drive for the (UK market). Due to USA regulations the American market was left with the Cosmetic Vantage Volante with the less powerful Weber Marelli Fuel Injected engine as it would meet USA emission requirements. The factory thus exported 58 left hand drive examples to the USA. This V8 Vantage Volante started life and one such example.
In its previous ownership, this USA specification V8 Vantage Volante was converted to full European specification cosmetics , exactly as it would have been had it been supplied from new in European form from the factory. Even though a low mileage example, it was decided to fully restore this Vantage Volante with no stone left unturned at the time. The complete interior was redone to include various PoW upgrades (Nardi wood steering wheel, Center console switch panel & Cubby box) as well as a few bespoke upgrades from UK trimmer Lincoln Scott to house an upgraded stereo and speaker system with CD changer. The convertible top was also renewed at this time.
Its owner wanted a proper European specification V8 Vantage Volante in left hand drive form. Because it was not able to be imported, it had to be modified. At this time, the engine was rebuilt and converted to carbureted form. It was fantastic in every way.
Having changed hands and now in new ownership, its new custodian decided to take it one step further. A factory original X-Pack Vantage engine was sourced and installed, making this V8 Vantage exactly what it would have been if ordered from the factory in this configuration when new.
This V8 Vantage Volante is truly exceptional and well done in every respect. It is complete with books, tools and history.
