1974 Aston Martin

V8 Coupe

White with Black leather interior and Black carpeting, 89,000 original miles (2,500 since rebuilt engine), 5-speed manual, Right Hand Drive, Previous ownership since 1984.

Its early history is relatively unknown. In 1984 it was offered for sale by R.S. Williams Limited, London, UK and purchased, exported to the USA by its previous owner-collector and keeper for the past 30 years. I remember it being a regular at AMOC events during my younger years.

In 1991, it was removed from the road for restoration. The rocker panels both inner and outer were removed, lower fender panels separated from the body, door frames jigged, new rocker panels installed, the chassis box sections Waxoiled for future rust protection and all fender panels were serviced and repaired to as new. All windows were removed, the body was chemically stripped, the aluminum treated, the bare aluminum was prepped and expoxy primed and finally painted in its current White color. At this time all brightwork was polished as needed and all chrome refinished professionally. The engine and gearbox were also removed at this time. The engine was completely rebuilt, cylinder heads refinished and carburetors overhauled. All restoration work was completed by its long term owner, a well respected airplane engineer/mechanic. The interior, although older has always been treated properly and cared for with Connolys Hide Food leather conditioner. It has a lovely and honest original patina.

Since restoration work has been completed, the V8 has been used sparingly and has accumulated only 2,500 miles. In the more recent past, it has been mostly stored. It will need various service/maintenance/recommissioning prior to be used and enjoyed because of a sincere lack of use. The front brake calipers will need to be looked after and the a/c compressor must be reinstalled and the system checked and recharged. Recently this V8 received the following servicing. New clutch kit, Rebuilt clutch slave/master cylinders, Various brakelines replaced, Rebuilt brake master cylinder and rear brake calipers.

This is an opportunity to purchase an early V8 Coupe with 5-speed manual gearbox that has enjoyed long term ownership and care.
