The Iso Grifo A3/L was based on a shortened Iso Rivolta GT chassis and was introduced at the 1963 show in Turin. The L stands for Lusso or luxury. The Grifo was styled by Giorgetto Giugiaro of Bertone. It is a beautiful, timeless handmade design that still looks fresh and modern today. The motoring press loved the Grifo as well. The first Iso Grifos were powered by Corvette 327 V8. The Iso Grifo offered here is one of the rare, higher powered, limited production versions known as the Grifo 7 Litre using the Corvette 427, 400 bhp engine which produced 460 lbs. of torque at 3600 rpm. The 5-speed big block version was the fastest of all Grifos and was recognized as the fastest production car in the world in the late 1960s.

This Grifo chassis #7L950297 has had great notoriety. A previous Pebble Beach class winner in 1999 it was restored by David Grant Restoration and has been used sparingly to date and remains in concours condition having also been a participant at The Quail in 2012 and more recently and the Boca Raton and Winter Park concours where it was also awarded. This 7.0 liter was a featured vehicle in Octane magazine in August 2003.

It was sold in 2007 by Autosport Designs, Inc. to its most most recent collector caretaker. It has been kept in this ownership for the past eight years and has been serviced and maintained as needed to keep in its current exceptional condition throughout. This is the Iso Grifo to own and has been well known and respected within the Iso community. It is stated to be 1 of 43 produced in this model year and there may be a few as 10 produced with these rare options and even fewer in the world in this Grifos caliber-condition.

This Grifo comes complete with original factory books, tools, spare, jack, as well as thorough documentation and history. Undoubtedly, this is one of the finest examples in existence. Absolutely immaculate and ready for road use or show.
