356 Speedster 1500 Super

Black with Red interior, Red German Square Weave carpeting, Black top and side curtains, Restored, 4-speed, Coachwork by Ruetter, Rare original date coded Rudge wheels, Matching numbers.

Introduced in late 1954, the Porsche 356 Speedster was deliberately designed as a dual-purpose sports car , one that could serve as both daily transportation and, with little modification, a successful weekend race car.

This 356 Speedster is one of only 141 examples originally specified with the high-performance type 528/2 engine, more commonly known as the 1500 Super. In total, Porsche only built 650 Super Speedsters between 1954 and 1958, accounting for just 16% of the entire production. Constructed on June 28, 1955, this Speedster is a Pre-A example, which can be immediately distinguished from the later A-series cars by its two-gauge instrument cluster, push-button starter, and other special early-production features.

This 356 Speedster was treated to an extensive cosmetic and mechanical restoration. It retains its original floors as well as its serial-numbered body panels. It is beautifully detailed throughout.

This 356 Speedster has recently received a complete service by Autosport Designs, Inc. It is ready for immediate road use or concours showing and eligible for some of the finest pre-1960 automobile driving events throughout the world.
