DB6 MK 2 Vantage Coupe

Moss Green with Black leather interior and Black carpets, Restored, Original Color Combination, Matching Numbers, 1 of 71 rare factory Vantage specifications, 4.2 liter, 5 speed ZF transmission, Air conditioning.

This rare DB6 Mk 2 Vantage Coupe has been in the ownership of a Long Island, New York collector for the past several years having been sold and maintained in the past by Autosport Designs Inc.

In August 1969, just before the introduction of the all new DBSV8, the last in a long line of classic Aston Martin grand touring cars was announced the DB6 Mark 2. An improvement on the already well-received DB6, the Mark II was equipped with slight fender flares on both the front and rear wheel arches to accommodate the new DBS sized wire wheels and tires, this also gave the DB6 MK II a wider appearance. For the interior, the Mark II received more comfortable seats, sourced from the DBS, making an already capable grand touring car even more appealing.

This DB6 Mk 2 has beautifully restored by Aston Martin specialists in both the UK and Canada, it was converted properly from original RHD to LHD specifications by well-respected Aston Martin marque specialist Adrian Johnsons Post Vintage Engineering during that time. Although and original factory air conditioned example, it was decided to have Post Vintage uprate this DB6 Mk 2 at the time of restoration with a modern and far more efficient air conditioning system. I can attest to having driven this DB6 Mk 2 Vantage in 95 degree heat in both traffic and open road condition is supreme comfort, not the norm for DB Astons in this type of heat.

This DB6 Mk 2 was sold new in 1970, in its home market of the United Kingdom. Shortly after its being imported to Canada in 2005, the Mk 2 was cosmetically (exterior, chassis and interior) restored to perfection by Howe Motor Works, Burlington, Ontario. A testament to their workmanship, the Mk 2 looks as good today as it did when completed in 2006. Howe Motor Works rebuilt the engine with upgrade to 4.2 liter displacement in 2014. It has just over 1500 miles since rebuild.

This matching number, original color combination, beautifully restored DB6 Mk 2 Vantage Coupe has been extremely well cared for to date. It comes complete with its original registration book, factory owners manual, past British V5 registration documentation, MOT test certificates from 1980 to 2006, service invoices from 1981 onwards, including all the restoration invoices for its most recent work. Both the factory build sheet and original right-hand drive dashboard are included in the sale.

It is not every day that one comes across such an attractive and ideally optioned example. This DB6 Mk 2 is ready for immediate road use or show and will serve as an excellent long-term investment.
