356A Speedster

Aquamarine Metallic with Beige leatherette interior, Tan Square Weave carpeting, Tan top and side curtains, 1,400 post-restoration miles, Matching numbers, Original colors, 1600cc flat-four engine, 4-speed manual gearbox, Restored by marque specialist, Porsche Certificate of Authenticity.

This Speedster #82517 was sold new July 8, 1956 and little is known of its early history. Records from 1977 indicate San Francisco ownership of Mr. F. Banks, from which point there is lapse in ownership history until 2000 when the Speedster was sold by Ruf Automobile GmbH to Puerto Rico Porsche collector, I.H. Mendez. The sale included a comprehensive restoration by Ruf, at which time the Speedster was stripped to bare metal and restored with the finest attention to detail throughout. All panels were pre-fit with bumpers, windshield frame and top to ensure the absolute best result. The complete driveline was rebuilt, engine, transmission, suspension, braking system, wire harness and fuel system. All chrome was triple plated and all components are OEM or NOS carrying OEM correct finishes. This work left no stone unturned and all is thoroughly documented in a photographic binder.

As listed on the Certificate of Authenticity the car was painted in a stunning original Porsche color of Aquamarine Metallic and was fitted with correct specification Beige leatherette interior.

More recently the car was sold to a private Florida based collector by Porsche specialist, Sloan Cars, circa 2013 where it has received regular maintenance and tuning from top U.S. East Coast Porsche specialists.

This stunning example is being sold with a full set of tools, books and a complete photo documentation of the restoration. Absolutely superb and showing only the slightest patina from an excellent older restoration - this 356A Speedster is exceptional throughout and is ready for immediate enjoyment.
