1970 Mercedes Benz

280 SE Cabriolet

Silver with Black leather interior, Black carpeting, Black convertible top, Matching Numbers, Becker Radio, Power Windows, Behr factory air conditioning, 2.8 liter inline 6-cylinder, Automatic transmission, Rare low-grille cabriolet.

This luxurious model was the last of the hand-built Mercedes. Only 13 cars per week rolled off the production line. These cabriolets and coupes are true classics. Unlike other automobiles, these cars were classics the day they rolled off the production line and have remained so ever since. Road & Track magazine said "one of the best-looking body designs to come from any German concern. They are exquisitely proportioned and beautifully designed and the term Luxurious may very well be an understatement when describing this model. This USA delivered 280 SE Cabriolet is 1 of only approximately 200 6-cylinder low-grille Cabriolets manufactured.

This 280 SE comes from a large Mercedes collection where it has been serviced when and where needed. The 280 has a very solid shell and drives accordingly with a smooth ride. As with many of the hand-built Mercedes Benzs of this era, this rare 280 would benefit from some further mechanical and cosmetic maintenance and would make for an excellent driving touring car. The 280 shows well with nice driver quality paint and chrome but will need some attention to the leather upholstery. This matching numbers 280 includes its original books and tools. We are asking $139,500 and welcome inspections as well as reasonable offers for this rare 280 SE low grille cabriolet that is in need of minor refreshing.
