Migrating to the United States by the 1980s, this Carrera was in the ownership Mr. T Vernen of Knox, Pennsylvania. At the time Mr. Knox worked with the well-known and incredible respected Porsche 4-cam specialist Gerry McCarthy, owner of Kam Motor Sports in Waterbury, Connecticut. Soon thereafter, this Carrera emigrated once again, this time to the West Coast, Paradise Valley, Arizona. It was enjoying this ownership from 2008 to 2014.

An extensive cosmetic and mechanical restoration was performed from 2009-2011. The engine, chassis, and body panel stampings correspond to Porsche original factory documents. At this time, the powerful 2.0 liter Type 587 4-cam Carrera engine was refreshed by Richardson Restoration & Machine Werks, Phoenix, Arizona. The restoration was nothing short of exceptional and to concours standards.

In 2015, this Carrera was purchased by a well-known Los Angeles hotelier with an exquisite collection of European sports cars of which this Carrera joined. The Carrera spent the following six years in the collection until the owners passing.
