This V8 Vantage is one of the first 12 Oscar India V8 Vantages built in 1979. The first owner was a doctor in Halesowen, UK. Within two years it was sold to a gentleman in France who had the car converted to LHD by a well-known Aston marque specialist. This V8 Vantage has a huge history file documenting ownership and all service from new as well as recent restoration work.
It has been in its last Swiss ownership since 2001 and used approximately 12,000 Kilometers until its recent purchase by Autosport Designs, Inc. It has been the recipient of the following restoration work during this time period.
The body has been stripped to bare metal and repainted in its original Raven Black color. Although never a rusty example, this V8 Vantage was treated to the best rust prohibitives prior to being repainted and having its chassis detailed. The complete underside has been disassembled, striped, corrosion protected, rebuilt and detailed. During this process, the gearbox was rebuilt and the limited slip differential was overhauled, the driveshaft and axles serviced and balanced. The complete braking system has been rebuilt with new brake calipers at all four corners, all brake lines have been renewed and the brake master cylinder and clutch slave cylinders rebuilt. The suspension has been completely refurbished to include new Koni shock absorbers, rebuilt steering rack, new suspension bushings throughout as well as the addition of a handling kit to enhance the V8s already excellent handling characteristics.
Mechanically, this V8 Vantage has received a full engine reseal, rebuilt carbs, new water pump, all new oil lines as well as new oil coolers prior to being installed back into the car with a completely detailed engine bay.
The interior is original and well kept and conditioned from new.
This V8 Vantage is one of the first Oscar India versions built. It is in exceptional condition throughout with everything working properly as originally intended. This is a rare opportunity to own one of the limited production second series V8 Vantage is superb-ready to use condition throughout.
