The Mercedes W113 type, nick-named “Pagoda” due to a distinctive and patented concave hardtop roofline. Many see as one of the most beautiful cars ever built. All 280 SL models were equipped with an inline 6-cylinder engine with mechanical fuel injection. The comparatively short and wide chassis, combined with an excellent suspension, powerful brakes and radial tires gave the 280 SL superb handling for its time.

Optioned with a factory hard top, air conditioning, Becker Europa stereo, and a carpeted rear luggage shelf this example retains its original matching numbers drivetrain.

This 280 SL has had a recent restoration which has seen limited use since. It touts a respray in Silver Metallic and a full rebuild of the engine by Metric Motors, Canoga Park in 2019 with only approximately 1500 miles being covered to date. Cared for by all previous owners, it also has extremely limited original mileage for its age. The restoration has stood the test of time and looks as fresh today as the day it was completed. Last sold by Autosport Designs to a good client and friend, this 280 SL has recently been traded back to us towards another automobile from our inventory.

While in its most recent ownership, this 280 SL received a regular service, air conditioning service, removal of USA specification bumper over-riders, and the supply and install of MB Bundt alloy wheels as well as European headlamps for its smoother, sleek look and appearance.

Being one of the finest 280SL's available on the market its condition speaks measures of the care it has received throughout its life. It is accompanied by books-manuals, restoration paper work, tools, jack, hammer, spare tire, factory convertible top levers, and is ready for immediate use and enjoyment.
