E-Type 3.8 Liter series 1 Lightweight

—Opalescent Silver-Blue with matching factory correct removable hardtop with Black period leather bucket seats, All-Alloy body, Restored and ready to race, factory correct with HTP/FIA Papers, Original Lightweight build by RS Panels UK. It is equipped as original with a Dry Sump specification 3.8 liter with 45 DCOE Weber carburetors and a 5-speed Getrag gearbox.

This E-type received an all new aluminum body shell to original Lightweight E-type specifications. RS Panels UK is well-known as having worked on 8 of the 12 original Lightweight E-Types during their restorations over the last 51 years and more recently built Car Zero for Jaguar Land Rover Group in the UK. Since, they have supported the build process for the six continuation E-type Lightweights recently built by Jaguar Cars, each pre-sold for over $1.7 million.

One of the finest E-type Lightweight recreations, this Lightweight E-Type has all the correct period parts and comes with current Historic Technical Passport/FIA papers as stated above. All has been done in Accordance with Appendix K, FIA/HTP Period F, 1962 to 1965, FIA Class GTS12 and valid to 12/31/2028.

Prior to its recent refreshing, this Lightweight E has enjoy a race history at HSCC Brands Hatch, Old Timer Gran Prix Nurburgring, Gran Prix de Dijon, 6 hours of SPA, Classic Gran Prix, Best of the British Donnington Park, Zandvoort Trophy, Le Mans 12 hours Historic Gran Prix Zolder, 25th European Historic Gran Prix, 12 hours de Nevers Magny-Cours. 20 hora Carrera, Tropheus Historique de Gascogne and the RGS-Hansa Pokal.
 
Recently restored and prepared for immediate use, work performed is as follows: Engine freshened by Steinke Sportswagon service Racing Division in 2017 with 1 hour on the motor, Confirmed by Thomas Steinke, engine was built to strict requirements under Appendix K. The exhaust manifolds were removed, painted and a custom made muffler for road use fabricated.

The monocoque was stripped to the aluminum and freshly restored. Front suspension was removed, new rotors, rebuilt calipers, new brake pads, new bearings for the front spindles.  The steering rack was rebuilt utilizing new custom made bushings. The rear suspension was removed from the car and new bearings installed, rotors, rebuilt calipers with SS pistons, new pads, half shafts checked, new U-joints as well as drive shaft U-Joints replaced. All shocks were checked by Koni. The Gertrag 5 speed was removed and checked and reinstalled.

The Lightweight E also received the following. New switches and wiring for all electrical components, new aluminum seats for both the driver and passenger with leather hides, custom snap in/out interior pieces for the sill plates, rear deck and center console. Finally, new exterior period mirrors were supplied and installed, the knock offs were rechromed, new tires were supplied and installed and finally the passenger side of the dash has been fitted with period type rally watches.

The 12 lightweights became Jaguar's last true racing cars for a generation, and today the surviving examples can be found in some of the world's finest collections.

This Lightweight is ready for campaigning in historic races or to enjoy as a fast road GT. With all original and continuation lightweight E-Types now in collections, this car represents the best opportunity to own a very rare, legendary '60s GT.
