The CLK63 AMG Black Series was introduced in 2007 to celebrate 40 years of AMG high-performance automobiles. It is essentially a street legal version of the Official F1 Safety Car which borrows design and technology from the Formula One racing world. Easily identified by its carbon-fiber flared fenders that are filled with larger, staggered-width AMG forged aluminum wheels (9 x 19 front, 9.5 x 19 rear). Braking is through larger vented and perforated composite disc brakes front and rear. New front bumper and lateral air outlets in the front fenders, feeds extra air to a larger radiator and a second transmission oil cooler. Redesigned side skirts under the doors lead to its flared rear fenders and a new rear apron with carbon-fiber air diffuser fins. An AMG sports exhaust, a limited-slip rear differential and trunk lid carbon-fiber spoiler round out the AMG package.

Powered by 6.3L AMG-built M156 V8 engine, this German 'bahn stormer produces a brutal 500 hp at 6,800 rpm and 465 ft-tq at 5,200 rpm, launching its occupants from 0-60 mph in rapid 4.1 seconds. This Black Series features a 7-Speed AMG Speedshift Transmission which ensures swift and precise gear changes in either automatic and manual modes. AMG race-bread adjustable coil-over suspension further compliments this bespoke modern classic.
