Only 4,518 MGBs came off the factory line this first year of production at Abingdon, UK, along with the last of the MGAs. This particular Old English White MG B was the 4,496th car produced, one of the last made in 1962. It is officially a 1963 registered car on the title.

First registered in 1963, the early history of the car is relatively unknown. This MGB was registered to Mr. Rudolph of Granada Hill, C.A in 1979 who owned the car for seven years before selling it on to Mr. Dugan his neighbor in 1986. Mr. Dugan lovingly enjoyed this MG B Roadster until 2004 when it was sold to Mr. Peyton, Hillside, Illinois. It was owned and enjoyed until 2012 when it was purchased by the current owner and consignor.

This MGB had the paint redone in 1997 in its original color. The interior received a restoration installed by Joe Namnam, who has an established reputation in the MG world for completing very high quality, often hand crafted work. All the carpets, door panels and kick panels remain correct and in excellent condition, together with the seats and wood veneers.

Included with the car are over $20,000 in service receipts from Mike Goodmans Sports Car Limited, a well-known MG specialist in Van Nuys California, David Cooper at Cooper Technica in Chicago, Illinois and finally Autosport Designs, Inc. while in its current ownership. Work included: New ignition switch, Brakes, Rebuilt gauges, New exhaust, New rear U-joints, Suspension bushings, New fuel pump, New door locks, Rebuilt carburetors, Rebuilt starter, New ignition wires, Various cooling hoses, Rebuilt distributor, New flywheel.

Included with the MG is a large service and ownership history file as well as its factory original jack, storage bag and tonneau, period knock-off hammer, spare wire wheel, original owners manual, ignition keys, boot key and glove box key.

This rare and early Californian 1962 MG B Roadster is mechanically excellent with high quality interior and excellent structure/chassis with no rust and with only the slightest honest cosmetic patina, ready for immediate use.
