The 356 B Roadster is considered a more modern day Speedster by Porsche enthusiasts and collectors throughout the world. It has been common practice throughout the years for Porsche enthusiasts to create what is known as a 356 Outlaw. A 356 Outlaw encompasses bespoke modifications, sometimes subtle and sometimes outrageous using Porsche period parts to modify both the cosmetics and mechanicals to produce a true one of a kind Porsche.

This 356 B Roadster was stripped to its bare bones for restoration. During its restoration, it was decided to make it cosmetically smarter, mechanically stronger and faster than its original off the shelf manufacture. Cosmetically, no stone was left unturned during its restoration to bring this 356 to Porsche Parade concours standards. The body was stripped to metal, painted period Slate Grey and the decision was made to give the cosmetics a 4-Cam Carrera look using the clean lines of the bumpers without bumper guards, a louvered engine lid, Carrera sport exhaust and Carrera type wheels less hubcaps. The electrical system was converted from 6-volt to 12-volt and thus Bosch European headlight have been use with LED taillights at the rear. The interior has been fitted with Speedster bucket seats, piped Green with the dash and door cappings also in Green leather, 3-point seat belts from a 993 to hold you snuggly in place and the addition of a period Nardi wood steering wheel rounds off its superbly crafted interior. To gain performance an engine for a 912 was entrusted to a well-known Porsche Northeast race shop-engine builder. The engine was built to big-bore specifications JE pistons and Mahle cylinders. Further improvements include Precision Maters full flow oil system, Weber Carburetors with modified Solex air cleaners for the proper period look, Electronic ignition, Jet coated exhaust with Carrera type performance sport muffler. To help get the power to the road and help both acceleration and cruising, a 901 5-speed manual gearbox has been used. Suspension from a SWB 912 has been used and braking is also through 912 disc brakes at all four corners. Techno Magnesio wheels with Michelin tires rounds off this Outlaw package.

The restoration was complete in 2013. It was then decided to show the car at the 2013 Porsche Parade where it scored 286 out of 300 points. Complete receipts and photo documentation of this 356 Roadster restoration accompany the car.

A sleeper in every sense of the word, this 356 B Roadster Outlaw has been professionally restored and uprated using only Porsche parts. It is outstanding in every way and must be seen driven to be appreciated.
