This rare 1989 911/930 Turbo Cabriolet with G50 transmission (the only year the G50 gearbox was available for the Turbo) has been well-known to Autosport Designs since its ownership in the early 1990s. Autosport Designs, Inc. has sold, modified and maintained it through several collector/enthusiast owners. It is truly a throwback to the 1980s/1990s Turbo era, when period bespoke and cosmetic updates were the norm and very expensive.

Well over $100,000 has been spent on this Turbo Cab over the years.

This Turbo has received the following cosmetic upgrades/modifications. 930S vents and boxed rockers (the decision at the time was made to leave the slats out of the vents for a cleaner-meaner look), a Ruf front spoiler with larger oil cooler, European H4 headlamps, 993 Aero mirrors and Ruf 17 wheels.

Mechanically, the engine was removed at 45,000 miles and completely rebuilt and prepared for a Protomotive Motronic Turbo conversion. With Motronic engine management and boost at a reliable 1.0 bar, this Turbo make over 500 reliable horsepower. The Motoronic conversion of the day was performed to ensure reliability unlike some of the modifications of the day and 911/930 Turbo owners running upwards of 1.7 bar of boost to make horsepower. As was the case in the day, those Turbos were very fast for a short period of time until they destroyed themselves. In the day we converted many Turbos to Motronic engine management systems, they are all running properly and care free to date, even on several track cars. A twin outlet stainless steel B& B performance was also installed at the time.

The interior was updated with period Recaro SRD seats, Momo sport steering wheel and shift knob, RS door panels with speaker pods, stereo upgrade with custom sub woofer and a roll bar painted body color. The air conditioning system has been uprated to include an extra large under floor condenser to make the system effective and extremely cold when use, unlike the factory original unit.

In its last ownership it has accumulated only 12,000 miles of seasonal enjoyment since 1998. This Turbo is excellent in every way, it has never sustained any accident damage, rust repair or track use, the roll bar was installed for safety and simply to look cool!

Always serviced and cared for properly, this rare 911/930 Turbo Cabriolet is excellent in every way and sure to please it next new owner/collector.
