This Ferrari Daytona Spider Conversion is well-known to Autosport Designs. In the past it was one of my (Tom Papadopoulos) personal automobiles and has only enjoyed exceptional Ferrari enthusiast collector owners throughout its life this far.

It was exported from Italy in the early 1970s. Circa 1978-79 it was converted to Spider specification by Mike Sheehans European Auto Restorations, Costa Mesa, California, well known for their exacting Spider conversions and restorations.

When it moved to the East Coast it was owned by Mr. P. Littell, Rowayton, CT, serviced and restored well-known Ferrari specialist Frank Buonanno in Connecticut and Wayne Carini at F40 Motorsport. Work included a mechanical and cosmetic restoration at this time.

In early 2007, this Daytona was with Wayne Carini F40 Motorsports offered for sale and on behalf of Mr. Littell. It was purchased by Autosport Designs, Inc. and sold to one of our clients. During this ownership it received a 365 GTC/4 power steering upgrade.

Subsequently traded to Autosport Designs once again towards an Aston Martin, I decided to keep this Daytona Spider personally for several years. At this time, Autosport Designs stripped the Daytona to bare metal and I decided to repaint it in its beautiful period factory color Blue Scuro. All chrome was refinished at this time and it was detailed for concours use. I sold it after several years to another client and friend of Autosport Designs, it has enjoy this ownership and limited, seasonal Hamptons use to date.

This Daytona Spider is superbly detailed, serviced, ready for immediate use or show. Properly converted Daytona Spiders offer all the enjoyment of the originals (all originals have also been converted from their Coupe bodies by Scaglietti) at a fraction of the cost.

Offered today, this Daytona Spider conversion is certainly one of the finest available.
